Getting Here
Mystery Mountain Resort by road, 13752 S. Hwy 16, Rapid City, SD 57702.
Getting to our camping and lodging resort couldn't be easier. Mystery Mountain Resort is located on Highway 16, between Rapid City and Mount Rushmore, next to Bear Country USA and Sitting Bull Crystal Caverns.
The Black Hills and Mount Rushmore are well served by a multitude of roads that are for the most part, passable all year round. Interstate 90 is the largest artery, flanked by US Highways 16, 385/16 and SD 79 running North-South. These roads will take you to Rapid City, the regional hub of the Black Hills and the only sizable city in the western part of South Dakota.
From I - 90, take exit 61 westbound and exit 57 eastbound, then follow the signs to Mt. Rushmore. Exit 61 is best with larger RV's from west or eastbound directions. Traveling from Rapid City/I-90 on Hwy 16 West (South) to Mt. Rushmore, we are just past Bear Country USA on the right side. Traveling North/East on Hwy 16 to Rapid City, we are just past Sitting Bull Crystal Caverns entrance, on the left side.
Getting Here by Air
Getting here by air is just as easy. The beautiful Black Hills are serviced by Rapid City Regional Airport which receives daily commercial flights from other parts of the USA and is served by Allegiant Air, United Express, Norwest Airlines and Skywest Delta Connection. When you arrive, rental cars, taxis and limo service are all available to take you to your final Black Hills camping and lodging destinations.
Location
The Mystery Mountain Resort is conveniently located in the tall Black Hills pine forest just off of South Highway 16, about 9 miles out of Rapid City towards Mount Rushmore. As you leave Rapid City on Mt. Rushmore Rd. and drive up into the hills, watch out for Bear Country USA and you'll see the entrance to our camping/lodging resort, 1/4 mi. past it. If you're arriving from the other direction, then look out for Sitting Bull Crystal Caverns; we're just past it on the left.
